Community Stores
Laynha supports four community stores in Gäṉgaṉ, Garrthalala, Waṉḏawuy and Bäniyala.
These stores provide access to fresh food, groceries and everyday essentials, helping Yolŋu families live on Country. They are also important community spaces where people connect, work and support one another. All Laynha stores follow the Remote Stores Healthy Food Standards, helping improve access to healthy, affordable food across the Homelands.
Each store is community run, with a strong focus on Yolŋu employment, training and local decision making.Operating remote stores requires careful planning, particularly during the wet season and periods of limited road access. Despite these challenges, our teams work together to keep stores stocked and supporting community life across the Homelands.
