Youth Activities

Youth Program

Laynha delivers a strengths-based youth program to support young people on homelands to develop skills and connection through continued practical learning. Delivered across seven Yolŋu homelands, the program is shaped through deep consultation with communities and youth workers ensuring it aligns with local culture and values. The youth program is offered through the year, after school and during school holidays with organised activities that vary from sports, music and art to hunting, cooking and nutrition.

The program employs 16 local Yolŋu in the homelands as youth workers and provides training for these people through Charles Darwin University and ALPA including Certificate II in Community Services and building mental health skill.

Join us in supporting Yolŋu communities to live strong, healthy and independent lives on their homelands

We welcome diverse opportunities to contribute, work, invest, and collaborate that will strengthen culture, uphold self-determination, and keep connection to Country alive for generations.
