Ranger Facilitator

The Yirralka Rangers manage the land and sea country of the Laynhapuy IPA, approximately 18,000 km2, situated across North East Arnhem Land region of the Northern Territory. The Ranger program was established in 2003. Laynhapuy Homelands Aboriginal Corporation, identified locally as Laynha, is a well-established and reputable Aboriginal organisation based in Yirrkala, situated close to the township of Nhulunbuy.

Under the direction of the Ranger Coordinator, the Yirralka IPA Ranger Facilitators are responsible for working alongside the Yolngu Senior Rangers to facilitate the planning, development and day-to-day implementation of the Yirralka Ranger IPA management plan. Being able to contribute to a culture that fosters the intergenerational transfer of traditional knowledge and the greater use of effective “two-way” learning approaches is key to this role.

Youth Support Worker

 

We are currently searching for a Youth Support Worker to join our team. The Community Youth Support Worker is responsible for supporting Community Youth Workers and Trainee Youth Workers. This role is an identified position, part-time hours (25hrs per week, Monday to Friday). Local Yolŋu are strongly encouraged to apply.

No housing is provided and the successful person must hold a C class driver’s license, current clearance for Working with Children or the capacity to obtain an Ochre Card (NT) and have basic computer skills.
