In the aftermath of Cyclone Nathan Dhalinybuy Homeland lost 90% of their trees, shrubs and foliage, leaving them with a distinct loss of satisfactory shade within their Homeland.
Homeland Members spent the majority of their time outdoors under these trees; now with the new shelter built they can still have access to shade whilst the newly planted trees are maturing. Members also hold fellowship, general meetings, and workshops this area is also utilise for camping at times of ceremony and other cultural business.
