Artists

Baniyala has some world famous artists and their art is available at Buku-Larrŋgay Mulka Art Centre in Yirrkala. Please see the artists profiles below from Baniyala Homeland:

Camping

Baniyala now offers a newly renovated Dholuwuy Campground with fresh water, open kitchenette, showers and toilets.

The community also has it’s very own accommodation block which you can book for your planned visit to Yilpara.

They are currently working on a new and upcoming “Stingray Campsite” for tour groups.

Getting here

By Road

  • Yilpara is 206 kms from Yirrkala
  • Travel time from Yirrkala in 4X4 – approx. 4 hours, depending on weather and road conditions
  • 4X4 is required to reach the homeland
  • GPS Coordinates: -13.20102600001659, 136.2270960004202

By Air

  • A chartered flight can be organised through Air Arnhem, MAF Australia or Black Diamond Aviation

Private Land

Please note that Laynhapuy Homelands are private land and not to be visited without permission. Some homelands can be accessed with the appropriate permit, please contact us for more information
