About Dhalinybuy
History

Dhalinybuy is large and very well established homeland on fertile soil on the Cato River that flows into Arnhem Bay. The community are strong and proud of their Wangurri heritage.

Cato River is open for fishing and camping, a permit must be obtained by Northern Land Council. Please note this permit does not give you permission to enter Dhalinybuy Homeland, only the Cato River Recreational Area

 

 

Getting here

By Road

  • Dhalinybuy is 100 kms from Yirrkala
  • Travel time from Yirralka in 4X4 – approx. 2 – 2.5 hours, depending on weather and road conditions
  • 4X4 is required to reach the homeland
  • GPS Coordinates: -12.41209536451129, 136.3884805850156

By Air

  • 28 kms flying out of Gove Airport with Air Arnhem, MAF Australia or Black Diamond Aviation

Private Land

Please note that Laynhapuy Homelands are private land and not to be visited without permission. Some homelands can be accessed with the appropriate permit, please contact us for more information
